Join the MVMT Board
MVMT Dance Co. is looking for a working board — not an advisory one. We need people who bring skillset, time, and resources to the table, not just guidance from the sidelines. If you believe in developing dancers into directors, and you're ready to actively contribute to how we grow across Cleveland and Chicago, we want to hear from you.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We're especially seeking board members with experience in finance, fundraising, legal/governance, HR, marketing, or education partnerships — but every application is welcome. What matters most is your willingness to show up and do the work.
What's expected
Board members serve two-year terms and commit to active participation on at least one committee: Development, Finance and Audit, or Governance, Advocacy, and Policy (GAP). We ask for your time, your network, and your voice — not just your name.
Our committees
The Development Committee supports MVMT’s fundraising and resource-development efforts by cultivating donors, sponsors, relationships, and other opportunities that advance the organization’s sustainability and growth.
The Finance & Audit Committee provides oversight of MVMT’s financial health, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The committee helps ensure MVMT’s resources are managed responsibly, transparently, and in support of the organization’s strategic priorities.
The Governance, Advocacy & Policy (GAP) Committee supports effective board leadership, organizational governance, policy development, and MVMT’s role as an advocate for the arts and the communities it serves. The committee helps promote strong governance practices while identifying opportunities for MVMT to expand its influence and impact.
The Program Development Committee helps shape, evaluate, and strengthen MVMT’s programs and initiatives. Members bring their expertise and perspective to ensure programming is impactful, relevant, sustainable, and aligned with MVMT’s mission and the communities it serves.
